COACHING STAFF

Head Coach Chris Hennessey

Chris Hennessey, an outstanding defender for the Lee University men’s soccer program (2006-09), will serve his first season as the interim women's soccer coach after serving as an assistant the previous two seasons.

After a successful college playing career and receiving his degree in business, Hennessey spent the past 3 ½ years, prior to coming to Lee, working as an instructor at All-Pro Soccer, entertaining a banking position and serving as the Director of Coaching for Central Maine United (a youth soccer program.)

"My wife (Jenae Storey) and I had been looking for an opportunity to return to warmer weather in the south," said Hennessey when asked about leaving the New England area. "Having the opportunity to work under coach (Matt) Yelton at Lee was something I could not say no too. I have learned so much from him that I will apply as I take over the program this season."

Hennessey, a native of Manchester, England, said it was Chris Walker who encouraged him to come to America and play with the Flames. "I had grown up playing with the Manchester City club, an elite-level soccer program, and when that didn’t work out," he noted, "I turned my attention to college and met my wife here at Lee."

Hennessey and his wife Jenae reside in Cleveland with their daughter, Emory Blake.

Assistant Soccer Coach Luidgi Beauzile

Luidgi Beauzille enters his second season as an assistant with the Lee women's soccer program. Beauzille played for the Flames during college and works primarily with the goalkeepers while assisting Coach Hennessey.

Coach Hennessey: "We are extremely fortunate to have someone of Luidgi’s ability on our coaching staff. He was an extremely good goalkeeper in his playing days for Lee, but in my opinion he is an even better coach. Luidgi will take the responsibility of training our goalkeepers on a daily basis, but he will also be instrumental in our tactical approach to games along with film breakdown this year. I have been very impressed with Luidgi’s understanding of the game and he brings a fantastic dimension to our coaching staff.”

The Lee University Girls' Soccer Camp uses the best staff available.  The coaches are drawn from many sources, including:

  • Current Lee Women's Soccer players
  • Former Lee Women's Soccer players who now coach
  • Current and former top level collegiate players from across the country
  • Top level youth coaches from across the country

The staff for each camp is carefully picked to ensure each camper's experience is educational and positive. Girls are placed on teams containing 13-15 players, ensuring a small camper-coach ratio.
