COACHING STAFF


Lucas Grider is entering his third season as the head coach with the Lady Plainsmen. He spent last year as the assistant coach and pitching coach at Frank Phillips Prior to Frank Coach Grider spent four years as the head softball coach of the Georgetown-Ridge Farm-Chrisman Cooperative, in Georgetown, Illinois. Before that Coach Grider spent two years as the first assistant coach and pitching coach at Louisburg College in Louisburg, North Carolina. While at Louisburg Coach Grider's teams both qualified for the NJCAA Division 1 National Championship Tournament. Prior to that Coach Grider was the assistant coach at Danville Area Community College in Danville, IL. Prior to Danville Coach Grider was both a head coach and assistant coach for the Jamaica Thunder, an ASA Class A summer program. Coach Grider earned his undergraduate degree from Eastern Illinois University and his Graduate degree from Indiana State University.


Assistant Coach Kiana Leavy

Kiana Levy returns to Frank Phillips College after completing an Associate of Arts in General Studies in 2011 and departing to continue her undergraduate studies at Webber International University in Babson Park, Florida. As a Pitcher, she was key to the Lady Plainsman’s first ever appearance in the NJCAA Region V Tournament and hopes to lend her experience as a player to this years softball team. At Webber International University, Coach Levy helped lead her team to the 2012 NAIA Sun Conference Championship and participation in the 2012 NAIA National Championships. She also received recognition as a top caliber pitcher by her selection to the 2012 All Conference team. Coach Levy is a native of Roseville, Ca. Coach Levy is excited for the opportunity to return to Borger and assist in coaching the program in which she began her collegiate career.
