CAMP LOCATION

All Thiel Baseball Camps will be held at Tomcat Baseball Park or Rissell-Schryer Dome.

Tomcat Park

Opened in time for the 2008 season, the baseball and softball fields at Tomcat Park represent two of the finest such facilities in the Presidents’ Athletic  Conference.  Made possible largely through a $1.2 million grant from the commonwealth of Pennsylvania - the largest-ever grant in the history of Thiel College – the complex is located just north of Roy Johnson Drive on West Campus, near Greenville Borough’s Riverside Park.

The baseball and softball fields each feature new LED scoreboards with inning-by-inning run totals in addition to bleacher seating behind each backstop.  The baseball field is served by a spacious, elevated press box, as well.

Rissell-Schreyer Dome

The Rissell-Schreyer Dome is an air-supported structure and a unique building system that offers significant advantages over conventional buildings. Unlike permanent structures, air-supported structures are low cost and easy to relocate and expand over an open space.

The Rissell-Schreyer Dome is available to members of the College and greater Greenville communities interested in walking. The Dome is open to walkers Monday through Friday from 8-11 a.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8 p.m.

There is also a golf range available for use Tuesday and Thursday from 8-11 a.m. and many Saturdays from 8-10 a.m. Bags of golf balls (approx. 50) are available for $5.

The Rissell-Schreyer Dome is available for rental to a variety of groups and organizations for a reasonable cost. Contact Dan McMillen, Head Golf Coach, at 724-589-2239 or dmcmillen@thiel.edu for more information.
