Seventh-year head volleyball coach Ron Arenz has led Akron to unprecedented heights during his tenure. In 2012 he guided the Zips exhibited the greatest single-season turnaround in the Mid-American Conference and of any Division I team in the country. UA posted a 12-win improvement from 2011 to 2012 (4-25 to 16-13) marking its best overall record since 2003. The Zips also advanced to the MAC Tournament quaterfinals for the first time in nine seasons.


Jayme Plummer - Recruiting Coordinator

Plummer is in his fifth full season as an assistant coach at Akron, working primarily with the middle blockers & defense. Plummer's responsibilities also include all facets of recruiting and scouting opponents. Plummer played club volleyball at Kent State University. Prior to Akron, he worked as an assistant for two years at Cleveland State University.

 

 

 


Assistant Coach Allison Clark

Clark is in her first season as an assistant coach on Ron Arenz’s staff in 2013. Working primarily with the setters, Kearney also oversees team travel, video exchange, and equipment while organizing the program’s summer camps. Clark comes to Akron after a decorated playing career at Arkansas State University and Bowling Green. The Wooster, Ohio native was the starting setter for three seasons at ASU, finishing her career as the school’s fourth all-time assists leader with 3,252. Kearney was a two-time All-Sun Belt Conference honoree with the RedWolves.
