COACHING STAFF

Head Coach Nick Weinmeister

Nick Weinmeister begins his 1st season as the LumberJacks Head Baseball Coach after spending the past two seasons as an assistant coach on staff for the Jacks.

In Weinmeister's first two seasons with the Jacks, the team posted a 40-42 overall record and placed 2nd in the UMAC both seasons.

Season series sweeps of Conference opponents Bethany Lutheran, Crown, North Central and winning series versus Martin Luther, Minnesota-Morris and Martin Luther propelled the Jacks to an outstanding season in 2014 which included winning streaks of 8 and 10 games respectively.  With a roster of only 14 players, 7 Jacks achieved all conference notoriety. In addition, Former Jacks Head Coach Ernie May was named 2014 UMAC Coach of the Year.

Entering the 2014-15 season, Coach Weinmeister was faced with new challenges such as recruiting enough student-athletes to implement a Varsity Reserve program and assuming head coaching duties of that team. The Lumberjack roster when the 2014-2015 season began was up to 41 players from the 14 on the roster in 2014. States currently represented include California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, New Mexico, New York, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Washington and Wisconsin.  Canada and the Dominican Republic are also represented on this year’s roster.

Prior to Northland, Coach Weinmeister was the Head Coach at his alma mater, Janesville High School in Janesville, Iowa. In his three seasons at Janesville, the Wildcats captured back to back Iowa Star North Conference Championships in 2012 and 2013 and increased the team win percentage each of the three seasons Weinmeister was at the helm.

Coach Weinmeister earned his Master's Degree in Physical Education: Coaching of Sport from Southwest Minnesota State University in 2015.Coach Weinmeister earned his bachelor's degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations with a minor in Marketing from the University of Northern Iowa in 2011. While at UNI he was a member of their Division 1 UNI Club Baseball team who competes in the Mid-America North Conference where he was both a pitcher and shortstop. He played his high school baseball for Janesville High School in Janesville, Iowa where he earned all-conference honors in his last three seasons and all-district honors in his last two seasons as a pitcher and utility infielder. Also during his time at Janesville, he earned all-conference and all-districts accolades in both football and basketball.
