COACHING STAFF


Beyond Sports is directed by Joe Brady (Clark University Head Women's Soccer Coach) and Lauren Chenevert (Shrewsbury Head Girls Field Hockey Coach.) 

The camp staff will include field hockey, soccer and lacrosse college head and assistant coaches from area local colleges. Players will also interact with local college players.

Clark University Head Women’s Soccer Coach

The winningest coach in the 27-season history of Clark women’s soccer, Joe Brady finished his 13th season this past. In August of 2013, Brady was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director.

He ended the 2013 campaign season with 84 victories, following a 2012 that saw the Cougars make their second straight appearance in the conference tournament and eighth in the last nine years.

In a 2011 campaign that saw the Cougars advance to the NEWMAC Tournament Semifinals Clark compiled a 7-9-3 overall record.

The 2009 campaign saw Clark post its fourth winning season under Brady. The Cougars ended with an 8-8-2 overall record and spent three weeks ranked in the top ten in New England.

Clark’s fifth place finish marked the second highest finish in the Brady tenure and the sixth straight season in which the Cougars advanced to conference tournament play. On three occasions the Cougars advanced the tournament semifinals – 2004, 2005 and 2008.

During the 2005 campaign he led Clark to a 12-8-1 mark – the third most wins in a season in school history and the finals of the ECAC Tournament for the first time in program history.  

Since 2005, Brady has served as Chair of NSCAA Division III New England Rankings Committee.

Brady has spent time in the club soccer world with Juventus, Fuller Hamlets and Inter Bandits (2004-08) and most recently with NEFC (2013 – Present). He led the Inter Bandits U18 team to a state-cup runner-up in 2007. Brady is currently a member of the Massachusetts Olympic Development Team staff as a goalkeeper coach. He also served on the ODP staff from 2000-02.

His coaching credentials include a U.S.S.F “C” license, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and NSCAA National Diploma.

Prior to his arrival at Clark, Brady spent seven seasons at his alma mater, Anna Maria, helping build the AMCATS into a conference power and regional contender. He was named Commonwealth Coast Conference coach of the year in 1997 as Anna Maria advanced to its third CCC Tournament title game and won a school-record 17 games.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities at Clark, Brady was named Assistant Athletic Director in the August of 2013. He oversees the athletic department’s day-to-day operations including the university’s popular intramural program, is the department’s scheduling coordinator and serves as the department’s liaison to the Alumni Office.

He added the title of Tournament Director for the legendary Clark High School Basketball Tournament in 2010 after seven years as assistant director.

A 1996 graduate of Anna Maria with a degree in business administration with a focus on management information systems, Brady was a four-year letter winner and team captain for the AMCATS.

He resides in Worcester with his wife Melissa and their daughter Keira and son John.

Shrewsbury Head Girl’s Field Hockey Coach

Lauren Chenevert has directed the Shrewsbury High School Field Hockey Program since 1999. She has led Shrewsbury to the State Finals in 2007 and 2012, the 2009 State semifinals, and three Central Mass Titles (2007, 2009 and 20012) In addition, Shrewsbury has reached the Central Mass finals in 2004 and was named Central Mass Coach of the Year in 2005 and 2007. During her tenure she has four MASS Players of the Year and 10 Mid-Wach A League MVPs.

Chenevert is the founder and a staff coach for the Worcester County United Field Hockey Academy She has served as a Futures Elite Assistant Coach and is currently a Cape Cod Classic and Super Sophs Massachusetts State Coach and has claimed four CCC Championships. She is a recent owner of the Cape Cod Classic and Super Soph Tournament. Chenevert has been a member of numerous camps including NIKE, UConn, Springfield,  Holy Cross and WPI.

Under her direction Chenevert has had players attend UMass, Holy Cross, MIT, UConn, Boston College, UAlbany, Boston University, Providence College, Stonehill College, Assumption College, Babson College, Bowdoin College, Tufts, Catholic University and UMass Lowell.. Several players of her players have gone on to become collegiate All-Americans and have won NCAA titles.

Chenevert is marred to Sean and has three children.
